A fantastic opportunity.

This Bösendorfer Model 170 5'7'' grand piano comes to us from a private owner who has lovingly cared for it, and it is ready for a new owner that will appreciate the unique musical experience it will afford.  Hand-crafted in Austria in 2002, it arrived at our shop in beautiful original condition, with a gleaming interior and a gorgeous satin ebony cabinet in showroom condition.

A premier quality instrument throughout.

Bösendorfer pianos are widely revered as some of the finest musical instruments ever created, and this Model 170 is a prime example of why that is the case.

The tone is remarkably rich and nuanced for a 5'7'' instrument. Note in the video the dramatic contrasts in expressive range, from soft and melodic to bold and powerful.  We've played many semi-concert grands that cannot match such a wide variety of tonal voices.

We were equally impressed with the action of the Model 170; there is an effortless quality that gives the player the feeling of complete control over the instrument in a way that is rarely encountered. The instrument seems to intuit the pianist's intentions and translates it musically with remarkably little effort.

  • Includes original adjustable artist bench.

Remarkable savings.

With the Bösendorfer Model 170 currently priced new at over $138,000, we're confident you'll appreciate the amazing savings afforded by this lovely preowned instrument.

About Bösendorfer Pianos

Established in Vienna in 1828 by Ignaz Bösendorfer, Bösendorfer remains one of the world's oldest and most respected piano makers.  Their Austrian facility continues to produce a very small number of exceptionally high-quality instruments each year.

About the Model 170 Parlor Grand (from the manufacturer)

Small is relative - from generation to generation

A grand piano, that has written music history. Our Model 170 was developed in 1908 by Ludwig Bösendorfer and ever since then has been a great success. Generations of pianists enjoyed and still enjoy the individuality and uniqueness of this instrument. No wonder, as this model is able to bring our unmistakable Bösendorfer sound into small living spaces. Its richness of tonal colours for a grand piano of this size is probably unique, whilst the tone quality of the bass is unsurpassed. Beauty of sound cannot be measured in centimeters
