This Steinway Model S 5'1'' baby grand piano was originally crafted in 1939 in New York. It was lovingly cared for by a family who clearly kept it very well maintained, and the result is an instrument that retains its original Steinway core structural elements while being in beautiful playing condition.
In addition to ongoing regular maintenance, the previous owners commissioned a full cabinet refinishing and restringing of the instrument within the last few decades.
The original, genuine Steinway soundboard and pinblock on this instrument are intact and in very sound musical condition.
In order to ensure a quality playing experience for many years to come, we've just thoroughly serviced the action of this instrument. As a result, this instrument has a remarkably smooth and consistent tone throughout with a great mixture of depth, richness, and power. The piano's touch is even with great control and precision.

For over 150 years, Steinway & Sons have been making the finest handmade pianos in the world and have set an uncompromising standard for sound, touch, beauty and investment value. Preferred overwhelmingly by 9 out 10 concert artists, composers, performers and countless piano enthusiasts.
At 5'7'' (170cm) in length, this piano's rich tone and responsive action is found not only in a great many homes, but in many schools of music and conservatories as well. Called the "Medium" grand, there is nothing medium about the sound from this instrument.
Some areas of the lid and cabinet exhibit incidental cosmetic lightening due to sun exposure since refinishing; this phenomenon is extremely common in wood-finish pianos and should not likely diminish the overall visual presentation in most settings.
