The Louis XV Model M (known to Steinway enthusiasts as Sketch 501-A) has been a favorite of Steinway's Special Collection series for generations. Its elegantly carved cabinet will be a striking visual centerpiece in any setting. Originally crafted in 1973 in New York, this piano was treasured by its previous owners who took very good care of it.

This piano appears to have all original Steinway parts intact and in very sound working order. It is an enjoyable piano to play, with a rich and smooth tone that has the complexity one expects from a Steinway.

The elegance of 18th-century France is reproduced in this delicately handcarved instrument made of beautiful walnut wood in the rare Louis XV carved style, including the legs and molding. Even the top lid of the piano is scalloped in beautiful detail.
At 5'7" (170cm) in length, this piano's rich tone and responsive action is found not only in a great many homes, but in many schools of music and conservatories as well. Called the "Medium" grand, there is nothing medium about the sound from this instrument.
