A world-class performance grand piano.

The Yamaha C3 is one of the world's most widely celebrated grand pianos.  It has been universally acclaimed for decades as a wonderful marriage of sound engineering, stable and consistent manufacturing, and remarkable attention to musical detail.  It is a gold-standard performance grade instrument that is suitable for the most discerning pianist.

With the comparable new instrument (the Yamaha C3X) now priced over $54,000, this C3 represents a great opportunity to own one of the world's most popular pianos at an incredible price.

An enjoyable instrument! Just reconditioned.

This piano originally crafted in Japan in 1977 and was purchased new in the United States. It was previously owned by a piano technician who just performed some substantial reconditioning work on it prior to bringing it to our shop to help it find a new home, ensuring that it will be a great musical instrument for many years to come.

Work just performed includes:

  • New strings
  • New tuning pins
  • New understring felts
  • Harp re-gilt and re-stenciled

Its action is even and consistent and its tone is characteristically Yamaha (clear and bright) but with a degree of warmth and body not always seen in later examples of this model.

Rare satin ebony finish.

Japanese pianos feature high-polish finishes almost exclusively - it's extremely rare that we come across one in a satin ebony finish.  It's a great choice for more classic interiors and rooms where a high-polished piano would be inappropriate.  It's a fantastic musical instrument in a package that is very aesthetically appealing.

The perfect size for the best tone.

Acoustically speaking, grand pianos which are 5'7'' to 6'1'' in length are almost ideally sized for an even, balanced tone across the entire instrument. Large enough to accommodate bass strings that give the instrument power, volume, and fullness, but not so large that the bass overpowers the treble register. It's optimally sized to give you the smoothest, most even transitions from the very bottom to the top. You're going to love it!
