How large is this piano?
All grand pianos have virtually identical Width and Height. Length is the only dimension that varies dramatically from one grand piano to the next.
Please note: These dimensions are estimates only. Due to cosmetic differences in cabinet trim, exact dimensions of any specific example of this model may vary.
Why is Length important? Longer pianos allow for longer strings and greater soundboard surface area, so they usually produce more sound than smaller pianos, but they naturally occupy more space.
What size should I buy? Most industry professionals recommend choosing the longest piano that your space can comfortably accommodate.

This Steinway Model M 5'7'' grand piano, originally built in New York in 1926, will make a lovely addition to your home. The prior owner of this instrument commissioned extensive restoration and refinishing work within the last 20 years, and the result is a truly beautiful and musically satisfying Steinway.
Based on our inspection, restoration work performed within the last 20 years included the following:
- Restored and refinished original genuine Steinway soundboard
- New Steinway historic soundboard decal applied
- New pinblock
- New strings and tuning pins
- Restored dampers
- Refinished traditional cabinet in red mahogany
- Restored nickel hardware
- New Steinway & Sons contemporary fallboard decal applied
- New keytops
Plays beautifully with new action parts.
In order to ensure a quality playing experience for many years to come, we've just thoroughly serviced the action of this instrument. Our work included new top-quality Abel Natural Felt hammers, shanks, flanges, and wippens, custom-sized and hung to meet the exact original Steinway specifications for this instrument, installed and voiced by a local independent Registered Piano Technician and Steinway specialist.
As a result, this instrument has a remarkably smooth and consistent tone throughout with a great mixture of depth, richness, and power. The piano's touch is even with great control and precision.

At 5'7" (170cm) in length, this piano's rich tone and responsive action is found not only in a great many homes, but in many schools of music and conservatories as well. Called the "Medium" grand, there is nothing medium about the sound from this instrument.
Condition notes
This instrument's cabinet exhibits some areas of very minor, incidental cosmetic wear acquired since restoration. We've priced this piano extremely affordably in light of these purely cosmetic imperfections.
