How large is this piano?
All grand pianos have virtually identical Width and Height. Length is the only dimension that varies dramatically from one grand piano to the next.

Why is Length important? Longer pianos allow for longer strings and greater soundboard surface area, so they usually produce more sound than smaller pianos, but they naturally occupy more space.

This 5'8'' Samick grand piano, model SG-172, was originally manufactured in 1987 and has been privately owned. It's a great opportunity to get a nicely-sized, quality musical instrument with amazing self-playing capabilities at a very affordable price! The tone of the instrument is very satisfying and robust for its size.
The perfect size for the best tone.
Acoustically speaking, grand pianos which are 5'7" to 6'1" in length are almost ideally sized for an even, balanced tone across the entire instrument. Large enough to accommodate bass strings that give the instrument power, volume, and fullness, but not so large that the bass overpowers the treble register. It's optimally sized to give you the smoothest, most even transitions from the very bottom to the top. You're going to love it!

This piano was manufactured in Korea by Samick Musical Instruments, one of the world's largest musical instrument manufacturers. The 1980s and 1990s are considered a "Golden Age" for Korean pianos, during which both of the major Korean manufacturers (Samick and Young Chang) produced many instruments at a high quality level. These instruments have proven to be extremely resilient over time and we are always very happy to have them in our showroom.
