How large is this piano?
All grand pianos have virtually identical Width and Height. Length is the only dimension that varies dramatically from one grand piano to the next.
Please note: These dimensions are estimates only. Due to cosmetic differences in cabinet trim, exact dimensions of any specific example of this model may vary.
Why is Length important? Longer pianos allow for longer strings and greater soundboard surface area, so they usually produce more sound than smaller pianos, but they naturally occupy more space.
What size should I buy? Most industry professionals recommend choosing the longest piano that your space can comfortably accommodate.
A classic restored American Steinway.
This Steinway Model A 6' grand piano, originally built in New York in 1913, will make a lovely addition to your home. The prior owner of this instrument commissioned an extensive restoration of it within the last 20 years. Materials and workmanship appear to be top-quality, and the result is a truly beautiful and musically satisfying Steinway.
Based on our inspection, the restoration of this piano included the following:
- New pinblock
- New soundboard
- New Steinway historic soundboard decal applied
- New strings and tuning pins
- Restored action with new genuine Steinway hammers, shanks, flanges, and wippens
- New hand-rubbed ebony satin cabinet
- Regilt harp
- New Steinway & Sons contemporary fallboard decal applied
- Restored and polished original keytops
This instrument also includes a high-quality ergonomic adjustable artist bench, made in Italy and purchased new at the time of restoration.
