This lovely Steinway Model M was crafted in New York in 1998 and has been lovingly cared for in the home of a private owner who is relocating and is unable to fit the piano into their new space.
This 100% all-original Steinway is a truly enjoyable instrument to play, with a rich and nuanced tone and responsive action. But clearly the aspect that sets this instrument apart from its peers is its striking Crown Jewel Walnut cabinet. It will be a legitimately one-of-a-kind aesthetic addition to any space.
Crown Jewel finishes are still a unique and prized element of Steinway's current piano production, and are available on a very limited basis as dictated by the supply of the sought-after veneers they employ. The comparable Steinway Model M in Crown Jewel Walnut is still available from Steinway, priced new over $138,000, so we're certain you'll appreciate the tremendous value afforded by this beautiful late-model specimen.
This piano has the rare distinction of featuring the signature of Henry Z. Steinway (1915-2008), the last member of the Steinway family to personally oversee the company, serving as its President from 1955 to 1977.
For over 150 years, Steinway & Sons have been making the finest handmade pianos in the world and have set an uncompromising standard for sound, touch, beauty and investment value. Preferred overwhelmingly by 9 out 10 concert artists, composers, performers and countless piano enthusiasts.
At 5'7" (170cm) in length, this piano's rich tone and responsive action is found not only in a great many homes, but in many schools of music and conservatories as well. Called the "Medium" grand, there is nothing medium about the sound from this instrument.
The Steinway Crown Jewel collection is an exclusive series of spectacular grand and upright pianos that feature particularly fine veneers. The veneers are meticulously put together with great artistic skill by Steinway experts. Each instrument is therefore a precious and unique masterpiece.
Walnut is famous for its wavy, curly, and mottled figures. Colors range from chocolate brown to golden brown. Slightly open grain pattern. native to the Ohio Valley.
This piano is in all-original cosmetic condition. Some areas of the cabinet exhibit incidental cosmetic lightening due to sun exposure; this is extremely common in wood-finish pianos and should not likely diminish the overall visual presentation in most settings. We've priced this piano extremely affordably with this in mind.
