This Yamaha baby grand piano, model G1, was originally built in Japan in 1986. It came to us from the home of a private owner, and it is ready for a new home. At 5'3" in length, it is large enough to provide a full and robust tone while occupying a relatively small footprint. It could quite possibly be the ideal professional-grade piano for a home setting.
The tone of this piano is classic Yamaha: Bright, crisp, clear and brilliant, but responsive to your touch. A softer, more expressive touch will yield a more expressive tone. The bass is full and clear, very much so for a piano of its size. The touch is light with a delightful dynamic range.
Yamaha pianos feature ebony finishes almost exclusively - it's extremely rare that we come across one featuring this ribbon mahogany finish. It's a great choice for more classic interiors and rooms where a black piano would be inappropriate.
With the comparable Japan-made Yamaha baby grand (the model C1X) selling for over $46,000, you'll appreciate the tremendous value afforded by this piano. It's not to be confused with the more entry-level Yamahas commonly available on the new piano market in this size range.
